It is very easy to install a graphics card, all you need is just 15 minutes of your time and you can get your computer games, starting with the new graphics card.

AGP slot was the standard for graphics card interface with the motherboard. As technology advances, the latest PCI-Express has taken over many graphics card nowadays use PCI-E slot as its interface with the motherboard.

Before installing the graphics card, is necessary to identify what type of graphics card slot is used.

If you are not sure that the slot will use the graphics card, see the user manual that came with the graphics card.

Once you are ready to install the graphics card, follow these four steps …

Step 1: Uninstall the drivers for the current graphics card

Before installing your new card, you have to uninstall the current card driver. This is because the current driver may not be compatible with the new graphics card and could lead to hardware conflict.

On the Windows desktop, click Start "->" Control Panel ". In the window that appears, locate the icon on the 'System and double click it. Look for the tab 'Hardware'. Click the "Device Manager". This will see a new window that displays the complete hardware configuration. Your card graph should be included in the "Display Adapter 'heading. Double-click the name of your graphics card. In the next window, go to the tab "Driver" and just below, there is an 'Uninstall' button. Click the Uninstall button. Once done, close all windows and turn off the computer.

Step 2: Remove the graphics card

Now, unplug the power connector on the wall and remove the casing of your computer. Locate the AGP slot (short brown slot above the long rows of white PCI slot) with your old graphics card. To avoid damaging static charge computer parts, touch a metal part of the case to ground yourself. Remove the screw from the back plate of the graphics card and unplug the graphics card the slot.

Step 3: Install the new card.

Align the new card correctly with the AGP slot (align with PCI-e slot if the card graph is of type PCI Express). Even the application of forces on both sides of the card, gently squeeze the new graphics card into the slot. Surely the board back with a screw.

Step 4: Install new drivers.

Plug in all cables and boot Windows. Your operating system must now recognize new hardware and automatically guide you through the installation wizard. Most times, you have to insert the driver CD that came with the card graphic on the CD-ROM. Locate the file 'setup.exe' in the drivers CD and double click it. Then guides you through the installation process. If your graphics card is not the latest model, most likely a newer version of the driver on the Internet. Check out the manufacturer's website and download the latest drivers. Install it. Once done, restart your PC. Now you are ready to start playing.
