If the power cord from my printer fits into my Clavinova, is it ok to use this cord interchangeably?
During a recent move, the power cord to my Yamaha Clavinova (electric piano) was lost. I discovered that the power cord to my Canon printer fits into the Clavinova and it provided power to my piano. I'm wondering if there is any reason I should NOT use this cord for my piano. It's much cheaper to buy the cord from Canon rather than from Yamaha...
If it's just a cord, i.e. no transformer box aka wall-wart attached to it, then you will be just fine. If the chord also has a transformer attached to it (or otherwise changes the wall-output in anyway before it leaves the cord) then you need to make sure that it matches what the keyboard was expecting fairly closely - typically such AC -> DC cords are not particularly accurate pieces of kit anyway.
