After a week with my new laptop, the CPU usage goes to 100% when I try to run any program at all. Help?

I just bought a Toshiba, uh … Notebook Series 355. 3GB RAM, 140GB hard drive, 2.16 GHz far a good computer, right? Yes, except for the graphics card. It's a generic Intel integrated or something else. Anyway, my problem is that after a week of ownership of this laptop, whenever you try to run any program or multitasking while almost instantly CPU usage goes to 100% and stays there, and performance slows to a crawl. Any idea what could be? Do not think it is a virus, I am protected by AVG …. Free @ bed late … I did not know that the use of P2P system is much more … do not load when Windows starts, but often have to function as a backdrop …

Try pressing CTRL, ALT and DEL. Who or opens the Task Manager under Vista, a menu appears. Start Task Manager is the latest. Click the Processes tab, then the CPU column heading one or two times to return to ask top to bottom. This will display the program you are using all resources. You can click on the process, then right and then click End Task. If your name explorer.exe process, then your own windows, if your svchost then end task may require a restart. If your system is a vital process that you will words can not finish the job. If a program that is external to the operating system, may be able to use msconfig to disable start when the computer starts. In Task Manager, go to the Applications tab and click New Task. Type msconfig. OK, then select Startup tab. Uncheck the box next to the program under the name coincides with the process that was / is to eat all power. You can also try disable each to see if something else, but that may be blocking other vital things that do not forget to turn other you'll need. Disabling unnecessary things in msconfig / startup is a good way to keep your computer performs its best.
